The ULTRA Discount Nutrition story is not an unusual one by "Great American Dream"
standards. You see, George and his sister Barb had been
wanting to become entrepreneurs for quite a long time. George, a
former Natural Bodybuilder, had already discovered that he had a real
passion and a flair for nutrition, bodybuilding and fitness.
Barb, a career Registered Nurse who loved the field of medicine,
had progressed about as high in the nursing profession as she could go.
But George had grown restless working for other people in the
retail world, especially in stores that catered to the nutrition and
health-minded. He had found that most of the stores really did
not seem to care about the customers as a people and saw them only as a
means to make cash registers ring. Barb had moved into
administrative/management nursing roles --- an inevitable consequence
of "moving up"
in Nursing. But in the process of becoming "successful",
she had
lost one of the things that brought her to Nursing in the first place
--- helping people. She missed the real people contact of her
early working life. So, one day they started to talk about
what it might be like to have their own business, together, as
partners. They started to brainstorm, and before very long they
decided that an ideal business for them would be a health and nutrition
retail store. Such a venture would allow both of them to exercise
their existing skills and experience while allowing them to pursue
their passions and aspirations as well. They both agreed that
their store could not simply be just another "run-of-the-mill"
health and nutrition store. Instead they wanted a store that
would stand out above the rest. Their store would give the aura of a "high-class"
store, while offering the low prices of the big chain stores --- maybe lower. Plus, it would offer the
service usually only found in the smaller stores --- with a few "extras" as well. And that is how ULTRA Discount Nutrition was born.
So George and Barb gathered up all their resources and started to begin
to turn their idea (dream?) into a reality. George got busy
working with suppliers and vendors to select the products he
considered to be the best out there. Barb started looking for a
location. Together they put together a shop that offers an
excellent selection of health and nutrition products at ULTRA low
discount prices. The result of their efforts can be found at their
Countryside, Illinois establishment located at 5408 LaGrange Road.
But this is only the beginning.
NOTE: This
Web site is provided as an informational service only. George and

are they equipped to ship orders. And, in order to keep their
